Sunday was the day of the X-Men Sneak Preview. I was quite delighted since I knew that the day would not be ruined by a sudden mobilization (but just in case, I checked my handphone every half hour). The prize structure was different this time. Due to the overly high demand for the playmats from past experiences, no one could choose it for their prize unless they played 3 flights or had a perfect 4-0 record.
I joined my first flight and started the day with a 2-0. I was in high spirits but played Yap Jing Yang, made some silly mistakes (kept forgetting his location can pump defenders and stupidly fell for it 3 times) and lost. Then I lost the 4th round, so it was a 2-2 and I received the nice Wolverine shirt.
I was still determined to win the EA to add to my colletion of Sneak Peak EAs so I joined a 2nd flight. I went 1-1 then was faced with a tough decision on whether to drop for the last flight of the day to get a playmat. I chose to continue and got Orchi to play a 3rd flight for me. I carried on and managed to win my last 2 matches to take home the EA Snikt so I considered myself lucky for not dropping on impulse. Meanwhile, Orchi got the playmat for me. I wasn't particularly interested in the playmat at first but it would have been a waste not to get the full set of items since I had already played the full day.
I also managed to win 6 booster packs in a lucky draw. This sounds wrong but the moment they started the lucky draw, I had a very strong gut feeling that I would walk away with something that day. I was eagerly standing up and edging near the announcer as if I knew my number would be called. Maybe I was just bursting with excitement.
