Hellsing Ultimate

I managed to download the new Hellsing Ultimate OVA recently. I was a huge fan of the original cos' it combined everything I loved about anime into one totally cool badass package. I thought Hellsing Ultimate would be a sequel but it is actually a remake. Nevertheless, I still looked forward to it. After watching it, I was impressed but I couldn't bring myself to enjoy it as much because the music was disappointing. During some parts of the show, I was checking to see if my laptop was muted cos' I thought I missed the music but in actual fact, there was none. I remembered it was the assortment of rock/techno/jazz tracks that made me remember the original Hellsing. But what happened to the music here? They are hardly memorable and sounded like filler because the studio forgot to hire a band. Almost every scene in the original Hellsing had great adrenaline-rushing heart-thumping rock tracks that meshed well with the action. I still remembered how I was on the verge of wetting my pants when they played the gothic/rock track during the first Alucard-Anderson battle. So to summarize, Hellsing Ultimate = Hellsing + updated story - all the great music. Overall, Hellsing Ultimate is good but not great. I can't wait for the next episode now.

Anyway, the new X-Men set was released earlier than expected. Thank god I did not have to wait 3-4 weeks after the Sneak Preview to begin cracking MXM boosters. I was drafting as much as I could where possible over the last weekend.

Then the weekdays were here again. I remembered that last time, I used to hate weekdays because there was nothing to do when everyone else was busy at school or work. Now I was the one who was busy. But I should consider myself really lucky that my workplace is near and it is super slack. On regular days, once my work is done, Mr. Sunny says I can go home since there is no point staying back (which means I leave as early as 4 pm sometimes). He also travels overseas quite often for race competitions so I don't even have to go to the office. And I still get paid my full monthly salary. I can't imagine what will happen if I get a 'real job' after this 3-month temp. I will probably be overworked and underpaid with a strict 8-to-6 work schedule, probably with lots of overtime and even taking my work back home. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon updating his website. It was kind of strange that the changes I have made were not refreshing on the site. I hope it is just some strange bug. Though I was pretty delighted that I have made myself more useful than just typing letters and documents.

I was recently surfing around for new NDS titles when I came across this little old advertisement for the lawyer game "Gyakuten Saiban". The game is by Capcom, which explains the art style. This video is in Japanese with English subtitles. It's interesting to watch even if, like myself, you know nothing about the game.

The weekends are coming again. I look forward to playing more cards and hanging out.
