I have been keeping myself occupied with my DS for the past few days. I think I have been influenced by the excitement generated by the launch of the DS Lite in Japan. As usual, hundreds of people queue up for the launch and the thing gets sold out within a couple hours. For goodness' sake, people queue up for a mere redesign. The DS Lite is so sexy I am seriously considering getting it when it reaches our shores. Then I'll give my current DS to my brother.
Anyway, I have been selling some of my DS games and buying 2nd hand titles from people on gaming forums. Got to keep my collection neat & tidy. My newest addition is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, the lawyer game by Capcom (featured in a video I posted a few entries back). It's a pretty interesting game; like being part of a good detective novel. Nitpicking on peoples' testimonies is in my blood. It's a short game, but since it is out of production, it'll make good trade bait when I am done.
On Saturday, I went to AMK to watch the movie, Underworld: Evolution with Darrell, Orchi & gang. It was a pretty okay movie. I was pretty lost during the first half hour of the show because I did not watch the first movie and there were quite a lot of flashbacks. It was pretty violent (but not disgusting) and I only learnt that it was M-18 after I left the cinema.
On Sunday, I went to the arcade at Bugis Junction. I always buy a korokke from Corochan to eat when I pass by. I went to play more Hokuto no Ken and Mario Kart Arcade GP. Edward, Jeffrey and Darrell were around, too. Kyo & Miya came by in the evening. I stayed a while more before leaving for AMK with Darrell. I wanted to go buy a game from FunZ Centre while Darrell wanted to get World of Warcraft.
When we arrived there, I couldn't make up my mind. In the end, I rented Resident Evil DS (Chris has started renting out DS & PSP games to members). Kang-Kang and Calvin were around so we chatted about video gaming. Chris told me that he wasn't going home that night since he was going to play pool with the Taiwanese guy, Jimmy.
He could not give me a lift home so I took bus 22 home with Damnpissed and HorizonPhoenix. During the journey, we chatted about the current state of Magic: The Gathering. Yes, it's that TCG that I had quitted time & time again, but it is a fact that I had been giving it some thought. Most of the VS players play M:TG as their main hobby. Imagine going to a PTQ (M:TG's equivalent of VS' PCQ) and meeting familiar faces like Oreo and the Goblin Bowling Team. It sounds like a lot of fun. But of course, there are many other reasons and I will not bore people with it unless I really do play M:TG again.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a new week. My boss is still not back for his trip so this means an extra day of freedom for me.
