Back to Magic 2006

I have recently started playing M:TG again. Will be exercising a LOT of control this time. So far so good; I built a deck almost entirely through buying singles & drafting. I realize that I have saved a lot of money this way as opposed to my old ways of buying booster boxes (M:TG = the TCG full of 30-cent crap rares). Thanks to Orchi and Andy who helped me in acquiring my cards.

Anyway, my urge to play M:TG again arose from my urge to draft (Yes, I love drafting; it keeps any game fresh when I am sick to death of my deck). I still remember, one year ago, I have decided to quit M:TG and will never touch it again. It looks like I am always destined to eat my own words. (At least I am very happy that the cut-throat traders who shamelessly con people are gone.) I even regret selling some of my old cards; if I still had them, I could be an Extended player (I've always wanted to play Extended!!!). I guess I'm playing Standard/Type II again. It's most probably going to be casual unless the AMK M:TG players are competitive gamers.

After playing VS, I took a few lessons for my newest foray into M:TG. I did my homework by checking out current winning decks at magicthegathering.com (M:TG's equivalent of VS' Metagame.com; I didn't even know it existed when I was playing last time!). I am now playing a Black/White Orzhov deck out of Guildpact. This guy is the main reason why the deck is played. I love my medium-sized fatties very much.
