I have been playing Neo Geo Battle Colisem at the arcades recently. I had completely missed SvC Chaos and NeoWave KOF since they weren't very interesting and then this little gem pops up. NGBC runs on the AtomisWave hardware instead of the archaic Neo Geo board, so the graphical effects are top notch.
The game features tons of characters/bosses from various Neo Geo titles, including very old titles by ADK like World Heroes and the super-obscure Aggressors of Dark Kombat. It is all pretty nostalgic. Even the two main characters are parodies of several Neo Geo titles and the Neo Geo itself. For example, Yuki's super moves are both named after the Neo Geo's old boot-up screen with the "Max 330 Mega" logo and also their old "100 Mega Shock" sales slogan.
The game is totally cool for its wow factor alone. Now all we need is a home port. It makes me feel like hooking up my Neo Geo and playing some of the old games again, but it's all in my brother's room. At least I still have my Neo Geo Pocket; I don't think anyone bought those things at that time. Well, maybe only crazy people like me.
