A new Shining title is getting released this week, so you'll have to excuse my crazed fanboy ramblings. Its name is Shining Force Neo (official site). This looks to be another big title with lots of well-known names backing its production. Yuriko Nishiyama (Dragon Voice, Harlem Beat) does the artwork. I can live with his funky artstyle, but damn, he butchered all the beast characters; bird-people don't look like birds and a wolf that doesn't look feral!
The opening song "Zetsubo to Kibou" ('Despair and Hope'; nice name) is sung by a fairly new J-Pop artiste named Kawashima Ai, and it's pretty good. I get a warm fuzzy feeling listening to it. Right-click here and save (600+kb) to listen to the chorus of the song; and if you are dying for a longer fan-ripped version, right click here and save (5 MB).
As for seiyuu, the main character "Max" is voiced by Morikubo Shotaro (GetBacker's Amano Ginji, Naruto's Shikamaru). Others notables include Takehito Koyasu (Muu LaFlaga, Zechs Merquise; too many works to mention), Hayashibara Megumi (everyone knows her by now), and Midorikawa Hikaru (Heero Yuy) .
The game is set to be released on 24th March 2005 which is pretty close to my birthday. Wee.
